Equipment, Parts and Service
Full Business Central Implementation – Parts and Service
The business moved from disparate systems to an operational Business Central platform connecting customers, equipment, parts, service work and online sales.
Client: Specialist equipment, parts and service business
The business sells and services specialised equipment, manages spare parts and service contracts, and coordinates work performed by field technicians.
It needed more than a finance-system replacement. The new platform had to connect equipment, customers, parts, purchasing, ecommerce and service delivery.
What we found
Information and processes were spread across separate systems. This made it difficult to maintain a consistent view of customer equipment, parts availability, service obligations and work in progress.
The implementation therefore needed to be designed around the full operating model rather than treated as an accounting project.
What we did
We implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central across finance, purchasing, inventory, sales and service management.
Customers, suppliers, equipment, parts, kits and service contracts were migrated into the new platform. We configured equipment tracking, consignment inventory, purchasing, contract billing and service processes.
Business Central was also connected to the company’s ecommerce store and field-service platform, allowing online orders, inventory and service-job information to move through the core system.
We supported process design, configuration, integration, training, data migration, cutover and post-go-live stabilisation.
Outcome
Business Central became the operational platform for managing customers, equipment, parts, purchasing, service contracts and ecommerce.
The business gained a connected foundation for its parts-and-service operation, with implementation work transitioning into the normal refinement, reporting and user-support phase that follows go-live.
